Here in the industrial docklands of Preston our team are super excited about the hottest new brand on the block, Made In Preston!
We are bursting into 2013 with a bit of attitude, even if we do say so ourselves. Gone are the frumpy A-lines, stretchy wrap-arounds and chintzy smocks that have featured in the wardrobes of those of us blessed with bustiness for too long! We don’t want to wear them and neither do you! We want sexy dresses, bold colours and fashionable fabrics and we want them to fit. So girls, that’s what we’re giving you.
And as our name suggests, everything is designed, sampled, graded, produced and packaged here at our factory in Preston by our Prestonian (and one Lancastrian!) work-force. By shopping with us, you are helping to resurrect a by-gone industry in the North West of England. Once thriving, it has dwindled to nothing over the last few decades, but we are determined to bring it back. Bring back skills, bring back pride in our local heritage and bring back jobs! That is our commitment to Preston.
By manufacturing ourselves there is no such thing as ‘out of stock’. Unlike our high street competitors we don’t have to wait six weeks for stock to arrive from the Far East. And we don’t have to second-guess what sizes and styles will be popular and cross our fingers that we’ve got it right. If you really love a particular item and buy all of our stock, no problem, we can make some more in a few days! And if an item is not quite right (say a waistline is too high, or a sleeve is too tight) then, unlike our competitors, we can rectify our pattern pronto and reproduce a superior style.
Our collections include knock-out party dresses, casual day dresses, blouses, tops, bra and briefs. We're a fashion brand like no other! We resonate Northern sincerity, glamorous charm and feminist attitude that will make girls all over the world wish they had bigger boobs so they could buy our bras and clothing!
Made in Preston is the brainchild of Nikki Hesford. Nikki is an ex-glamour model and an award winning Young Entrepeneur of the Year, who you may have seen on Dragons' Den in September 2012.
Nikki previously ran the successful online ecommerce website BigBraBar, but after 2 years of success, part of BigBraBar was bought out and rebranded. Nikki realised there was huge gap in the market for fashion labels that catered specifically for girls with big boob small waist combinations.
And so Made In Preston was born.
